Target Audience - Our target audience for 'Our Childhoods Shaped By Tradition' are young adults (ages from 18-30) who have an interest in searching through lost childhood family traditions and experiences. Why? 1. We decide to choose this demographic as our primary audience as adults in this age category are usually at a period in life, reflecting on the experiences that shaped and moulded the person they are today. In addition to this, young adults are generally more tapped in with their own digital media presence and are more tech savy.  2. This age group have been born into a life of digital media and the era of the internet, which means that they would be much more comfortable searching through a digital webapp rather than a physical piece of media. 3. There has been a trend in the past decade of younger generations taking an interest in connecting with their own roots and childhood, which makes the webapp serve as a perfect source to record these stories on.

Interview  1 Interviewee:  Yuliya Age:  24 From:  Ukraine 1. What activities were you interested in growing up? I was a very active child. I went to dance classes, joined lots of different clubs, and loved singing. I also really enjoyed swimming and rollerblading. I liked trying new things and being active. My dad taught me a lot of things, especially different sports and activities. I was always full of energy, so my childhood was quite busy. 2. Was there an activity or object in your childhood that you would associate specifically with your culture growing up? For me, it wasn't really a particular object. It was more about a place and a certain way of life. For example, spending summers in the countryside. Many children used to spend their summer holidays at their grandparents' houses, but I was lucky because I could spend a lot of time there with my parents too. Did you have any family or cultural traditions growing up During Christmas our family would cook a lot of food, such as traditional food like meat jelly and homemade sausage which we would make out of freshly minced meat and bake in the oven. We also went carolling or as we called it "Koliadky". People would give us sweets for this.  My siblings and I also had a tradition of gathering around the radio and listening to stories.  Name: Anastasija Semjonova  Year: 2005 Country: Latvian  1. Did you have any family or cultural traditions growing up Yes, Easter was a really big thing in our family. We had a tradition of hitting hard boiled eggs off eachother and competing for whose egg won't break. We also did an Easter egg hunt with my siblings.  For Christmas/New Years, we celebrated New Years more than Christmas. Originally, my parents would give us our presents on New Years night just like my people do from my culture in Latvia, but later on they started doing it the Irish way and giving presents on the 25th. Did you have any family or cultural traditions growing up Yes, we would celebrate Christmas on the 7th of December instead of the 25th as we celebrated it according to the Orthodox calendar. We would also travel from Bandon to Cork to attend an Orthodox church for Christmas. I can't really think of any other family traditions other than this.  2. My family celebrated Ukrainian holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and Ukraine’s Independence Day. We would get together, cook traditional dishes, and spend time with our relatives. These traditions helped me feel connected to my family and Ukrainian culture. 2. Was there an activity or object in your childhood that you would associate specifically with your culture growing up? I especially associate my childhood with Ukrainian embroidery and traditional embroidered shirts called vyshyvankas . I remember wearing a vyshyvanka to school celebrations and special events.
